Unfortunately this is not a very uplifting blog post, but one I thought was important to do. I am sure by now you have read or heard on the news about the Playboy model Jasmine Fiore's tragic death. The story is that Ryan Jenkins, her "reality star" husband of 5 months, murdered and dismembered her body. (He is a former contestant on Megan Wants a Millionaire and on the likely-to-be-un-aired I Love Money 3.) Before disposing of the suitcase that contained her body, he removed all her teeth and fingers leaving her unidentifiable. Little did he know that breast implants all come with their own serial and tracking number. When the autopsy was done the coroner only had to call the manufacturer to identify Ms. Fiore. Soon after Ms. Fiore was identified, Jenkins was found in a hotel in Vancouver, BC and had hung himself.
The most terrible part of this story is that reports show that Jasmine filed a domestic violence charge in June....only two months ago! When I read that, it just broke my heart. I think this story is a reminder to us all that violence is not ok in any shape or form. If you feel like you are being violated physically, mentally, or both get help. Asking for help is not a sign of weakness, or an indication of failure. If you need assistance in any way, look to friends and family to help. There is help out there....you just have to ask!
