Jon Bon Jovi opens homeless shelter and plans restaurant

Jon Bon Jovi continues his charitable efforts, his foundation opening a homeless shelter and planning a 'pay what you can' restaurant.
Bon Jovi's charitable fund, the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation, has opened a $3 million homeless youth shelter in Philadelphia.

He appeared at the launch of the shelter, Contact Music quoting him as saying that not supporting troubled youths "denies all of us their talents and visions".

Now that they've taken care of shelter, the Foundation are moving onto food.

The Asbury Park Press reports that the Foundation plan to open a 'community' restaurant in New Jersey, where people can get meals for as much as they can pay.

And if they can't afford a meal, customers will be able to volunteer in the kitchen to earn their food.

The restaurant is modelled on similar ventures in Denver and Salt Lake City but is yet to get planning approval in New Jersey.
